    Default 4870x2 1920x1080 res

As you can tell by the Title i have a ATI 4870x2 card but am having issues getting 1920x1080 display.

I am currently using a Acer monitor - Link

It clearly states that it supports 1920x1080 but the highest im getting in Windows 7 is 1600x something. I have read some forums and first i tried changing the DVI - VGA adapter but no luck, tried changing the vga cable no luck.

These is a option in ATI i think to disable DID (don't quote me) and then you can manually set the res, this worked the first time but every time i reboot it goes back. No if i try it it doesn't work.

Any of you guys had any issues with ATI or the 4870x2?

Oh so there wasn't a driver in win update, that's what I use for my NECs and Samsungs. But then my 4870X2 is running a native res of 1680x1050, hopefully someone else is running at 1920x1080.

Since you have had the issue have you done a reinstall of windows?

Yeah, i had to a reinstall when i raided my hard drives, but still had the same issue.

I haven't updated to the latest driver which im going to do tonight, see if that fixes it. I have seen quite a few posts regarding this issue, a lot of people have complained to ATI

1920x1080 is so much better than 1680x1050, especially using Windows 7.

4870X2, the acer can support 1920x1080, did so on my previous card.

But the 4870X2 wont display that res on the same monitor

Installed the new ATI drivers and the new acer monitor drivers and i was able to force the graphics card to show 1920x1080 by turning off DID.

Looks lovely in Windows 7 but when playing BC2 for more then 10 minutes screen flickers black then back to normal. Quite fun when surrounded by 3 people all trying to knife you! Manage to kill 2 of them so im happy

Never had any probs with my 4870x2 and my 24" acer. I use 1920x1200 but switch over to 1080 when i transfer over to my plasma for films etc.
