For some reason RealTemp doesn't want to start up, pageant starts just fine. Even when I set RealTemp to run as admin ... nothing

Installed this last night on my new PC. Looked great and super responsive!

Unfortunately I had to uninstall quite quickly, the drivers for the motherboard was not installing correctly. Everything was working just couldn't update the drivers.

If I had more time last night I would have probably persisted. It did look really good and was super quick

Oh, that's a shame. What motherboard are you running?
My laptop is running an Intel H67 chipset with i3 CPU, Intel Wi-Fi & Bluetooth, Realtek Ethernet and IDT Audio.

Did you try and update the driver through Device manager, and pointed it at the unpacked/extracted driver .exe? Alot of drivers you can right click and extract with WinRAR (WinZip wont and neither does Opus).

Yeah it is very quick even on my laptop's 5400rpm Seagate HDD, I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like on a SSD system.

It was probably a mix of me being stupid and the time!

I was using the main driver installers from ASUS, might just wait until Win 8 is released and go from there. The OS looked really good though, very different user interface which will take some getting used to but looked good.

Windows 8 graphics: everything is accelerated - PC Pro Article

Windows 8 will take three graphics APIs already used in its Windows 7 predecessor - Direct3D 11, DirectWrite, and Direct2D - and revamp them, improving rendering times in some applications by more than 500%.

"All of these changes help Windows render experiences very quickly and smoothly," said Rob Copeland, a group manager for the graphics team on Windows 8 in a Microsoft blog post. "

I have been wondering why I couldn't log in to the Win 8 store with my MSN account, I found out why this morning when I went to Microsoft Billing (to pay for my Hotmail Plus Subscription) I went to login and it said

"You can only use a password of up to 16 characters, if you have used more than 16 characters in your password please input the first 16 characters of your password"

Once I had logged in and changed to a 16 character password I could log into the store! Shocking!

I was just reading this article ..

    Windows 8 Catastrophe

Sounds like good news for Linux gaming if Valve will be developing on it.

I've gone back to Win 7 Enterprise on my Laptop.
Although there's alot to like about Win 8, I much prefer the the Desktop & Start Menu approach.

I'll probably give it another go but not just yet.
