Default ASUS RT-87U AC2400 Gigabit Router

    Hi everyone,
after a number of years running an ASUS RT-N66 it was time to upgrade, for various reasons I went for one of these...

    Product Info
    ASUS RT-87U AC2400 Gigabit Router

    Firmware
    ASUS
    Merlin

It's only AC2400, but that's fine for what I need atm, plus I know there are Asus Mesh Wi-Fi kits and new Ethernet standards (2.5Gb and 5Gb/s) on their way so I wasn't going to spend silly money.
From what I have seen so far, it's a massive upgrade on what I had. I will post back once I have lived with it for a while.
    Here's a couple of pictures...

As I expected, it has been excellent! It hasn't dropped my connection once.
When I was setting up I noticed two of the switch ports can be used to aggregate a connection, so I'm wondering if I'll be able to do this to my switch...probably not, but I'll give it a go at some point and post back.
Something to note, the standard Asus firmware doesn't have "Release prefix on exit" under IPv6 settings, so I am running the Merlin firmware.

Merlin's new firmware 380.68 is excellent! You can now add your own SSL Certificate for the webui and it's persistent through firmware updates.
    You can download it here...
