I got one of these ASUS RT-AC86U Routers on Wednesday to replace my RT-AC87U, the WiFi is so much better!
Through an ASUS PCE-AC88 (in the room above the router) I was connecting at a solid 1.1Gb/s, peaking at 1.3Gb/s.
Now I'm connected at 1.7Gb/s peaking at 1.9Gb/s with the ASUS PCE-AC88 and ASUS RT-86U.
My Surface, iPhone and iPad are all connected at a solid 866Mb/s upstairs, so you should notice a difference on 2x2 devices.
Here's a couple of pictures of my new setup...
Main PC : | Intel i9-9900K @ Default | ASUS Maximus XI Hero | Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB 3200MHz | ASUS TUF RTX 3060 OC Edition 12GB | Samsung 980 PRO 1TB NVMe | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB NVMe | Sound Blaster AE-7 | Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE LCD | Corsair iCUE 5000X RGB | Corsair HX850 Platinum | ASUS ProArt PA279CV 27" 4K | Windows 11 Professional x64

I moved house recently and my new line is capable of the full 80/20 which meant I was geting close to the limit of the Open Reach Modem's 10/100Mb LAN port.
There wasn't much choice of modems, a desktop Netgear DM200 £33, and a more useful wall mountable Draytek Vigor 130 £80.
I'm sure you can guess which I went for!? Yeah, the Draytek! It's now neatly mounted on the wall behind my desk.
So far it's been great, for most people it will be plug and play, but I had to move it to a different subnet.
Long story short, I wish Asus would make a VDSL/ADSL Modem to go with their routers! lol!
